Our plan on our last morning in baden-baden was to hit the road early as we intended to get to Trier on time. This will be our last stop before jumping on the Euro tunnel back to London. On our way out, Neal decides to do a ‘pit’ stop and I initially wasn’t up for it because, well, we needed to hit the road like?! But Neal had other ideas. So we rock up to this building, with me still slightly fuming, especially as Neal didn’t say where and why we were stopping. Well, his pit stop was at another winery, Baden-badner weinhaus! I really should have known ha! This is why road trips are the best – there are no rules!!!
I was surprised that they were open this early to be honest, but I am not complaining because champagne for breakfast is definitely a good look. It was not busy and even though we could not have a proper wine tasting session, we did explore the premises and tasted a few more Rieslings. I really liked the space; wines lined the walls, there was a wine bar type area where you could sit and have a taster in addition to the designated wine tasting area which comprised long benches and tables.
Did I mention there were wines everywhere?
Surprisingly there was also gin?! Yep! These guys make gin too
Our tasting started with champers and nothing says Boujee like Champers for brekkie! Best believe, I am as Boujee as they come lol.
We also sampled some Auslese and Trockenbeerenauslese as these are our fave Rieslings and it did not disappoint.
As far as pit stop goes, this was pretty dope. We bagged ourselves a few more bottles Riesling, champers as well as a lickle gin.
No, I am not telling how many bottles of Rieslings have been purchased so far! Ain’t none of your business 😜😁
Prost

p.s. if you happen to be doing a road trip within Germany, make sure you look out for Der Huhner Fred food truck which serves the best chicken on the go! I tell no lies, you will thank me later, This was the truck in Dahn!
