Dehesa! where the food is inspired by Spanish and Italian cuisine meaning the food is going to be colourful, flavourful and wholesome. A place, where after sampling the starters, you know you must have a few more dishes because the food is that good!
Our first visit to Dehesa was a late afternoon / evening on a Saturday in February 2018, it must have been just after Valentine’s day. Neal was on the hunt for an item and we ended up in Carnaby street. Of course, Carnaby street was busy from shoppers to diners and we chose Dehesa because it was the only place that had a table for us at the time. Plus, we really were desperate for a drink too lol!
Once we had a bit of alcohol in the system, we decided to sample a selection of starters as we do. We had olives, croquets, cured meats, calamari and these were delish!
So much so, we decided to try a few more dishes and these were just equally delicious, besides, there was pork belly on the menu, and you know that is a fave for Neal. The mains are split into 3 categories – meat, fish and vegetables. We had meat covered, err, pork belly? lol served on a bed of beans made with some interesting sauce but i forget the name now. For the fish course we had chilli prawn in squid ink and we also sampled the red wine chorizo. This was a fave for me, served with bread to mop up all that yummy red wine chorizo sauce.. yummy!
Salted caramel cake for pudding was just perfect with the desert wine. Ha! you didn’t think we were not having pudding, did you? There is ALWAYS room for pudding!
Dehesa, such a delight.
Cheers
