Have a thing or 2 for food and wine!
There is a synergy that comes from the combination of food and wine! The taste of a dish is altered – flavours are intensified, salty becomes less salty and / or more savoury, acidic turns into citrus, sweet is sweeter, bland becomes flavourful, et al. And this is why I love having food adventures (either at home or when traveling), one gets to experience this synergy and the ingenuity of amazing chefs – their history, passion, culture, but, most of all, the sheer joy of their dishes.
Tasting menus (with wine pairings) can have as little as 5 dishes to as many as the chef allows. Not trying to bore you with details about every dish. Trust me, all the dishes were epic! This is me sharing my experiences of tasting menus from all over the world; the dishes that made me go ‘ohhh’ & ‘ahh’ with delight, to the ones that left me high and dry. From my very first taster experience, to the food adventure that still makes me smile and the most epic one yet!
