I do love it when a pub surprises you with their menus and the red lion did that! Four years ago, we arrived for Sunday roast and well, it was splendid! I know I said Sunday roast but I was not ready for the food at all! Started with a glass of sauvignon blanc. Apparently, the drink determines the meal (well most of the timeπŸ€”) and no, I don’t know who made that ruleπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ; anyway, since Neal was driving, he had to make do with a diet coke ha!

We had every intention of having a sunday roast dinner but let’s just say the menu had other items that caught my interest! We had calamari and halloumi as appetisers, you know how when you sample an appetiser and you get a β€˜feel’ for it, we were feelin’ it for sure.

I decided to swipe left and try a curry instead and boi!!! I had Malaysian curry and it was full on – packed with mussels, salmon, squid, prawns!

Talk about colourful! I mean this sea-food lover was very happy! Neal stuck to having steak, salad, chips and he was happy too. The portions were a good size because you know pub food don’t play!

Pudding was a warm gooey chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream with a wafer.

Look at all the chocolate goodness? It was scrumptious! I remember thinking I would come back to the red Lion just for pudding! Listennn people, it was that good!

Gosh, what wont I give for a good ol’ pub lunch right now?

Cheers

p.s. Happy Easter people
