When I tell you the Japanese get it right? they get IT RIGHT PERIOD! Nothing here is done basic or average, QUALITY is their middle name and I am here for it! Still in Kyoto and the city keeps on giving! Ughh…I can’t. After an fantastic lunch with Misuta Tatsuo at Mentatsu (uncle has the warmest welcome, best chats and his udon noodles are elite)
taking in more cultural delights we ended the day at House of KI NO BI and the experience was just PREMIUM!!! The décor gave warm and inviting – a very ‘come in and have the best gin ever vibe’, in what was and / or is the Kyoto Distillery building!
We snagged a bar table and it was the best! we Brits love a good chat and chat we did with the amazing bar staff and mixologists that stayed serving the gins!!! No, but for real, gin tasting here is boujee! I mean the gin is served in the custom glass with the name of the gin on a tag draped ever so elegantly, over the lid
come on now! Look at that! We tasted everything on the menu – the house gin (kinobi) , ki no bai, ki no tou, sei.
How could we not when the gin comes looking like it does? And the gin was GIVING!
I loved all the little details from the labelling on the premium gin, the gin glasses, the mixers…
It just screamed ‘QUALITY’! I thought Sake was where it was … I stand corrected! Japanese gin does not play!!! If you are ever in these Kyoto streets, you know what to do! get some gin!
